Factory floor displays

Production floor displays that keep to the shift pattern.

On a production site, displays carry line boards, shift announcements, and safety notices. They were usually bought in different years from different manufacturers, and each is run from its own software. Lima manages every display on the site from one console, on the site's own shift schedule.

Scheduling

Content follows the shift, and the display follows working hours.

Content is scheduled by day and by time range, driven by the server clock. The morning shift's announcement gives way to the night shift's at the changeover without anyone touching it. Line displays are managed as a group, and every display in a group plays the same content in sync. Displays along a line can also be combined into a video wall, arranged by drag and drop.

In the on-premises edition, power scheduling works the same way. Outside working hours the panels go dark while the devices stay on the network, reachable remotely, and they come back on at the scheduled time before the morning shift.

Content

The line board and the safety notice on the same display.

The zoned layout editor divides a display into areas, sized, positioned, and layered by dragging. Each area plays its own content, and the strip along the bottom never covers what is above it.

Existing dashboards. Any HTML page or URL can play in a zone. A production dashboard the site already uses goes on screen without being rebuilt.

Live data. A ticker fed from an RSS or JSON source keeps text drawn from another system current on the display.

Ticker. Safety notices and shift announcements run along the bottom strip. The strip reserves its own space, and the layout or a flat playlist resizes to fit around it.

Clock, date, and weather. Ready-made widgets are added to a display without any extra data source.

Safety and faults

One action for an evacuation, an alarm for a fault.

A predefined emergency message is started with a single action from the top bar, and it replaces the scheduled content on every display on the site. When the message is removed, the displays return to their normal schedule. On a production floor that is a safety capability more than a convenience.

In the on-premises edition, a display that stops responding raises an alarm by webhook or Zabbix, in the system the maintenance team already watches. A line board does not stay dark for two weeks in a corridor nobody walks down.
